• Grinding Gear Games server outage at the start of a new league (extremely common)
• Scheduled maintenance or hotfix deployment during an active league
• High concurrent player load crashing the login server during league launches
• Steam authentication failure for Steam-linked accounts
• Instance server crash mid-map causing disconnection and potential item loss

How to Fix Path of Exile Not Working

1. Check the live status above and GGG's server status at pathofexile.com/news
2. Follow @pathofexile on X — GGG posts updates during login server overload very promptly
3. If it's league launch day, expect queues and instability for the first 1–3 hours — this is normal
4. Try the standalone client instead of Steam if you get Steam auth errors
5. Clear the PoE shader cache: delete the ShaderCacheD3D11 folder in the game directory
6. If disconnected mid-map, your character is safe — re-log and resume from your last checkpoint
