Slack Not Working for You? It Might Not Be an Outage

If the status above shows no ongoing outage but Slack isn't loading for you, the problem is likely on your side or with your internet provider.

Common Reasons Slack Stops Working

• Slack workspace outage — messaging, calls, notifications, and file sharing can fail independently
• Slack calls and Huddles infrastructure separate from messaging — calls may fail while messages work
• Corporate firewall or VPN blocking Slack's required ports
• Notification delivery failure — messages are sent but push notifications don't arrive
• SSO/SAML provider outage preventing login to Slack via your company's identity provider

How to Fix Slack Not Working

1. Check status.slack.com for a breakdown of which Slack components are affected
2. Try Slack in a browser at app.slack.com if the desktop or mobile app is failing
3. For call issues, check that your network allows Slack's media ports (UDP 22466 or TCP 443 fallback)
4. If notifications aren't arriving, check notification settings in Slack → Preferences → Notifications
5. For SSO login issues, try your company's direct SSO URL or contact your IT admin
6. Sign out and back in to refresh your Slack session and workspace tokens
